My Services

(...continued from Home page)

Coaching a parent happens during in-person treatment but what I am really excited about is putting you immediately in the driver’s seat using the teletherapy medium during a variety of routines and hands-on activities. This means we won't be tied to one specific time per week. We can implement therapy in a variety of situations. This is one of the advantages of teletherapy over in-person visits.

I will work primarily with YOU, the parent or caregiver, during hand-on activities that we plan together for you and your child (no, your child will not be touching or interacting with the screen). You not only will have access to a live coach, but valuable resources such as helpful handouts, some video examples of how you can implement some strategies, and an opportunity to reflect and gain feedback. These are all evidence-based practices of early intervention. Although I will be coaching you along during the session, I will also have some opportunities to engage with your child (greeting, some prompting, and by reading an engaging book at the end of a session to promote literacy skills. Talking and listening are important skills in preparing children to learn how to read and write during the early elementary school years so I will be demonstrating to you how you can amp up your book reading time to target language and concepts). Assessment for Language Delay (up to Age 3)

If your child has not had a speech and language assessment within the last 6 months, this is how I will assess your child through Teletherapy.

  1. Fill out the Contact Form at the bottom of my home page.

  2. I will contact you to set up a no-charge phone call to discuss any of your concerns and to determine if an assessment is needed.

  3. In preparation for the assessment, I will ask you to fill out the Case History Form and the Teletherapy Client Agreement & Consent Form (see also FORMS section), and to email them back to me.

  4. I will ask you to record your child on video for 30-45 minutes continuously showing several different interactions (e.g. play with toys, play with caregiver, mealtime/snacks, transitions, chores, books, etc.). I will provide you with some basic instructions and examples. Once completed, you will send these recordings to me by secure email or via a file sharing service (Google Drive, DropBox, etc.). *See link on how to share videos

  5. I will write my formal assessment including a therapy plan and send this to you.

  6. We will schedule a 20 minute “trial run” follow-up video call to go over any questions you may have, to ensure comfortable use of the technology, and to plan the first session’s activities. There will be NO CHARGE for the trial run.

Fee: $675

Includes the following prior to initiation of therapy:

  • Intake and review of case history and prior assessment reports

  • Video reviews (as applicable)

  • For new clients, we will then do a short 20 minute "trial run" to ensure comfortable use of the technology, to answer any questions you may have, and to plan the first session’s activities.

  • There will be NO CHARGE for any of the above activities.
